As a Zumbini instructor, I believe in creating more than just music and movement classes—I believe in building moments of connection. That’s why celebrating Halloween felt like the perfect opportunity. It’s not just about costumes or candy; it’s a magical season that invites imagination, play, and togetherness—all the things we nurture in Zumbini.
For many families in Sweden, especially those with little ones under 4, Halloween is still a new and growing tradition. And that’s what made our first-ever Zumbini Halloween Celebration in Stockholm so special. Over two joyful weeks in Odenplan and Älvsjö, we created a warm, inclusive space where children could experience Halloween in a playful and age-appropriate way—through music, movement, and joy.
What We Did: Music, Movement & Halloween Magic 🎶🎈
We kicked things off with a new song, “A Bailar,” where we practiced naming body parts in English and Spanish—a fun way to build early language skills while dancing and giggling together.
Then we stepped into the spirit of Halloween with a "trick-or-treat" singalong, using songs from #SuperSimpleSongs. Each character had their own quirky sounds and personality, which the little ones absolutely loved!

Next came the highlight of the day: the pumpkin balloon race! Kids raced their pumpkins from one side of the room to the other while parents cheered them on with big smiles and laughter. It was a beautiful moment of shared energy and encouragement.

And of course, we couldn’t skip the Limbo game! With “Jump in the Line” from Beetlejuice playing in the background, we danced, ducked, and laughed our way through the iconic Halloween classic.
Finally, our “treats” came with a twist—instead of candy, each family received an arts & crafts kit to continue the fun at home, creating memories far sweeter than sugar.
Why Halloween Is Growing in Sweden 🎃
While Halloween isn't a traditional Swedish holiday, it's quickly finding its place—especially among young families. In cities like Stockholm, more and more parents are discovering the joy of dressing up, decorating pumpkins, and creating playful traditions with their children.
At Zumbini, we embrace these new cultural moments because they allow families to slow down and be present—and when shared through music and movement, those moments become even more meaningful.
Why Zumbini Matters for Young Families 💛
For children under 4, development happens through connection, repetition, and joy. Programs like Zumbini support:
Language growth through singing in multiple languages
Motor skill development through movement and rhythm
Emotional confidence through playful interaction
And most importantly, stronger parent-child bonds through shared experience

Our Halloween celebration brought all of this to life. It wasn’t just a class—it was a memory. It was laughter, togetherness, and community.
A huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful families who joined us last fall and helped make Zumbini’s first Halloween in Stockholm such a heartwarming success. Your love, energy, and open hearts made it all possible.
