Our Halloween Zumba Kids classes were fun and immersive ways for children to learn through play, dancing, movement, and culture! During last October and just before the fall break, we turned our usual dance classes into spooky and exciting Halloween celebrations. With costumes, music, and plenty of games, the kids got to explore dance, rhythm, and role-play in ways that kept them moving, learning, and laughing. Here’s a recap of our Halloween adventures!
🧠 Baked Brain Dance Game – A Halloween Twist on a Classic!
We started with the “Baked Brain” game, a twist on the classic hot potato. Each child, dressed in their favorite Halloween costume, passed around a plush brain prop, and when the music stopped, the holder didn’t get “out”—instead, they got the spotlight! Each child created a unique dance move to the Halloween music, letting their creativity shine. Watching the kids perform in their costumes, embodying their chosen characters, was pure joy and a great way to boost confidence!

🎈 Monster Balloon Challenge – Concentration and Coordination!
In Älvsjö, we introduced a fun new activity with monster balloons! The kids were challenged to use different body parts to move the balloon from one side of the room to the other, while staying in a line. They had to think creatively and coordinate their movements, making for lots of laughter and excitement as they bumped, nudged, and pushed their balloons together. It was a fantastic way to practice teamwork and body awareness while keeping the Halloween spirit alive!

🎶 Halloween Rhythm with Claves – Musical Fun with the Addams Family Theme!
Next, we practiced rhythm skills with claves, a traditional percussion instrument, while following along to the iconic Addams Family tune. The kids in Älvsjö loved using the instruments, and their Halloween costumes brought extra flair to this activity. It was a fun way to practice staying on beat and working together!

🪓 Axe Throw Challenge – Focus, Patience, and Spooky Excitement!
For a fun test of coordination, we played a safe “axe throw” game using foam props, encouraging patience and focus. Taking turns in their costumes, the kids cheered each other on, demonstrating balance and teamwork. Their costumes added a hilarious and spooky twist, making the game feel like a mini Halloween adventure!
💀 Dancing Zombies and Hip-Hop Monsters!
We turned up the Halloween vibes with two themed dances: a spooky Latin Cumbia version of “Thriller” (en Español!) where everyone danced like zombies and a high-energy hip-hop dance to a Halloween track called "The Family." Costumes helped each child feel like they were part of a thrilling Halloween performance. It was amazing to see them get into character and dance with such excitement and energy!

🍭 Trick-or-Treat Spin Wheel – Sweet Rewards for Their Moves!
As a reward for their incredible energy, each child got to spin our Halloween “Trick-or-Treat” wheel for a little surprise treat. Seeing their faces light up was the perfect end to our celebration, making Halloween all the more magical.

At Zumba Kids, we believe in creating spaces where children can express themselves, learn about different cultures, and develop a lifelong love for movement. Our Halloween celebration was a beautiful blend of fun, learning, and self-expression that showed just how much doing Zumba can bring. Thank you, parents, for encouraging your children to join us in this creative journey—we couldn’t do it without your support!
Zumba Kids classes are available again during the fallat 2 different locations: Tullinge and Tumba.
