7 Years of Zumba: A Celebration of Movement, Growth, and Sisterhood

ree

This year marks 7 years since I became a licensed Zumba instructor—and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by sharing the joy with the women who have been part of this journey: my students, my friends, my community.

Zumba has given me so much more than a career. It has taught me constancy, authenticity,  creativity, patience, and most importantly, connection. Every class, every event, every smile has helped shape who I am today—not just as an instructor, but as a woman and entrepreneur.

💃 A Friday Night to Remember

To celebrate this milestone, I invited my students and close friends for something a little different: a night out in the city, outside the dancefloor, where we could relax, laugh, and connect in a new way.

We met at a cozy, centrally located Mexican restaurant called 3 Tacos and they normally played music with a DJ, . They offer great food and drinks, and a lively dance floor. Everyone paid for their own food and drinks, and the atmosphere was light, fun, and full of energy.

We danced. We shared stories. We raised our glasses. And we celebrated not just my anniversary—but everything we've built together over these past 7 years

💬 Why This Celebration Mattered

It reminded me of something powerful: that Zumba is more than fitness. It’s a platform for community, empowerment, and joy.

Being an instructor isn’t just about leading classes. It’s about creating safe, uplifting spaces where people feel free to be themselves. Where we grow, not just in strength or stamina, but in confidence, friendship, and resilience.

To everyone who joined me that night—and to all of you who have been part of my Zumba journey over the past 7 years: Thank you. For trusting me. For dancing with me. For showing up.

Here’s to more years of movement, celebration, and growing together. Let’s keep dancing—and keep lifting each other up.
