It’s always a good time to gather and celebrate! That’s exactly what happened on May 24 in Stockholm where music, joy, energy, and feminine connection filled the air during an event that was far more than a Zumba class: “Let’s Celebrate Mamacita’s Day”. Organized with vibrant spirit by Patricia Alvarado, the gathering brought together around twenty women (and a couple of brave men!) to honor all the “mamacitas” at Studio Salsa in Odenplan.
Dressed to sweat, participants were welcomed into a warm and relaxed atmosphere from the start, full of smiles, positive vibes, and a strong desire to connect. Most attendees were Latinas seeking to build community in the northern hemisphere, and nearly a dozen soulful entrepreneurs were also present, showcasing their creative projects.
At 11:30 am, Patricia kicked off the event with heartfelt words:
“For me, the most important thing is creating spaces where we can reconnect, play, meet new people, dance, and feel inspired. Today is about celebrating yourself – we don’t do it often enough – and connecting with others. Mamacitas are not just moms; they’re women with love to give – whether to kids, pets, or the world.”
A trio of games, laughter, and real connection

Patricia brings passion, fire, and joy to everything she does. Her energy is contagious. Before anyone hit the dance floor, attendees were split into small groups for a fun icebreaker: the classic “hot potato” game. The balloon passed from hand to hand as laughter erupted, personal stories were shared, and, of course, dance moves made their debut!
Next, a balloon race challenged teams to move in sync while squeezing balloons between their legs – cue the giggles! There were no losers, only lots of laughter and bonding.
Feel the beat, feel the power: Zumba time!

The movement kicked off with a motivational message:
“There’s no such thing as perfect steps – only the courage to try. Your biggest enemy is not trying,” said Patricia with a spark.
Then, the music cranked up and the vibe got hotter! Guided by Patricia’s infectious charisma, the Zumba session grew in intensity with urban and Latin beats – from Karol G to Bad Bunny. Nobody stood still.
One of her regular students, Juana, summed it up perfectly:
“When you dance Zumba with Patricia, you feel that unique Latin spark. She lifts you up, makes you feel sexy, empowered, and connected. Plus, her international community vibe brings people together like magic.”
The Zen moment

After the cardio storm, the event slowed down with a soothing stretching session led by Rowena (@worldzen). Through breathwork and mindful movement, participants reconnected with their bodies and gave thanks for the shared experience.
Before wrapping up, one last playful activity was held: a quiz about the featured entrepreneurs. The winner received beautiful gifts: a handmade candle by Energiljuset, a box of collagen from Zinzino, and a piece of art from Darcci Studio.

Beyond dance, the event offered a beautiful showcase of inspiring brands run by talented entrepreneurs:
Beatrice Lugano, soul-centered portrait photographer, offered exclusive mini-sessions.
Jesús Peña from Cambur Pintón brought Latin childhood nostalgia: platanitos, Ducales cookies, Saltín Noel, and more.
“These events are vital for building relationships, especially in Sweden where that can be tough,” he said.
Jenny from Nordic Handmade wowed everyone with adorable crochet amigurumis – animals, plants, and more, all handmade and customizable.
Fernanda Reyes shared the benefits of Zinzino, a natural supplement line. She explained the importance of testing your body first to cleanse effectively.
“As foreigners, we often feel disconnected. This kind of space helps us connect and grow,” she said.
Elin Lindgren from Energiljuset displayed her delicate floral and animal-shaped candles for calm and wellness.
Carolina from Sprouted Health introduced her work as a doula with a focus on nutrition and postpartum support.
Andrea Fernández from Balanced Parenthood shared her journey as a conscious parenting coach.
And Soruhl, an alcohol-free hibiscus drink, offered a refreshing and mindful alternative.
“Let’s Celebrate Mamacita’s Day” was so much more than a Zumba class: it was a joyful, empowering, and deeply human space. The mamacitas left with more than just sweat – they carried joy, inspiration, and new friendships. Because every woman who gives love – whether to kids, cats, plants, or herself – is a mamacita.
